MTENM
Music Teachers of Eastern New Mexico
Established 2023
New Mexico's New Voice of the Music Teacher National Association
We are reinventing music education across Western Texas and Eastern New Mexico.
About MTENM
This organization is new, but we are not. We were founded by a group of senior-level, nationally-recognized professional musicians in the public and private sector in Eastern New Mexico and Western Texas. We started this because we need something new. And we need your help in defining this exciting branch of the MTNA.
Neighboring associates are as old as 74 years old. Where will we be in 75 years? Well, most of us won't be here - but our children will, or theirs. We are looking to the young people in our area - just as we also are a new association - so that we can prepare the next generation of professionals.
Our Mission
We are reinventing music education across Texas and New Mexico Borders.
Our Vision
We envision a future where music education thrives across Eastern New Mexico and Western Texas, creating a lasting legacy for generations to come. Our vision includes:
- Building a vibrant community of music educators who inspire and support each other
- Creating innovative programs that adapt to the changing needs of our region
- Fostering connections between experienced professionals and emerging talent
- Developing sustainable partnerships with educational institutions and cultural organizations
- Ensuring that quality music education is accessible to all who seek it
We're building something special, and we need your expertise. Whether you're an experienced educator who is dedicated to the mission and principles of the MTNA* , or just starting your teaching journey, your perspective will help shape the future of music education in our region.
